What we offer
For over 25 years, Ross Pilates & Conditioning has been helping people throughout Thunder Bay move better through Pilates and specialized movement education. While Pilates remains the foundation of what we do, we've expanded our expertise to include specialized methods such as ELDOA®, CoreAlign®, the MELT Method®, and the Franklin Method®. This allows us to offer personalized instruction tailored to your unique needs and goals, helping you reduce pain, improve posture, build strength, and move with greater confidence and ease.
Wherever you're starting from, we'll meet you there. We know taking the first step can feel overwhelming—especially if you've been living with pain, recovering from an injury, or simply haven't exercised in a while. Our goal is to make the process comfortable, welcoming, and easy to understand. We'll help you determine the best place to begin and support you every step of the way.
Below are some of the services and programs we offer to help you move and feel your best.
Private/Semi-Private Training
Whether you're new to Pilates or have years of movement experience, our Private and Semi-Private Training is designed around you. We begin by getting to know your goals, health history, and how your body moves, allowing us to create an individualized plan that meets you where you are.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to movement because every body is different.
Using our fully equipped Pilates studio and specialized movement methods, we'll help you improve strength, mobility, balance, posture, flexibility, and overall function. Whether your goal is to reduce pain, recover from an injury, improve athletic performance, or simply stay active and independent, every session is tailored to your unique needs.
More than simply leading you through exercises, we help you understand your body and how it moves. As your awareness and confidence grow, everyday activities become easier, movement becomes more efficient, and you build strength that lasts beyond the studio.
Our instructors are here to educate, encourage, and support you every step of the way, celebrating your progress as you work toward your goals.
Therapeutic Pilates & Corrective Exercise
Pain isn't something you simply have to live with. Our Therapeutic Pilates and Corrective Exercise sessions are designed to identify movement patterns, muscle imbalances, and postural habits that may be contributing to pain, stiffness, or limited mobility.
Our approach is informed by over 40 years of movement education and ongoing specialized training, allowing us to create individualized programs that help you move with greater comfort, confidence, and efficiency. Whether you're recovering from an injury or surgery, managing a chronic condition, or simply wanting to move and feel your best, we'll meet you where you are and guide you safely toward your goals.
Our team includes instructors with specialized training, including Buff Bones® certification, to help individuals with osteoporosis and osteopenia exercise safely while improving strength, balance, posture, and confidence.
Over the years, we've helped hundreds of clients improve their quality of life by addressing conditions such as back, neck, shoulder, hip, and knee pain, arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, joint replacements, and many other movement-related challenges.
Small Group Classes
Experience the motivation and camaraderie of exercising with others while still enjoying the personalized attention Ross Pilates & Conditioning is known for. Our classes are intentionally kept small, allowing our instructors to provide individualized coaching, exercise modifications, and ongoing guidance throughout each session.
Whether you're training on the Reformer, Cadillac, Stability Chair, CoreAlign®, or participating in classes featuring the MELT Method®, ELDOA®, Smart Spine®, TRX, Oov, and more, every class is thoughtfully designed to help you build strength, improve mobility, enhance balance, and move with greater confidence.
Unlike larger fitness classes, our instructors take the time to get to know you and how your body moves. That means you can feel confident knowing your exercises can be adapted to meet your individual needs while you continue to progress safely and effectively.
You'll benefit from the encouragement of a group while still receiving the individualized attention your body deserves.
CoreAlign®
Developed by Physical Therapist Jonathan Hoffman, the CoreAlign® bridges the gap between rehabilitation and fitness by improving posture, balance, core stability, strength, and mobility through functional, upright movement.
Unlike traditional exercise equipment, the CoreAlign challenges your body to move more efficiently while integrating strength, stability, and coordination into everyday movement patterns. Because the exercises are performed in standing and weight-bearing positions, they naturally translate to the activities you do every day.
Whether you're recovering from an injury, looking to improve athletic performance, or simply wanting to move with greater ease and confidence, the CoreAlign can help reduce pain, improve movement efficiency, and build a stronger, more resilient body.
Experience the difference functional movement training can make—both in the studio and in everyday life.
ELDOA®
Developed by French Osteopath Dr. Guy Voyer, ELDOA® is a unique method of precise postural exercises designed to create space within the joints and spine. By improving alignment and reducing compression, ELDOA® can help relieve pain, improve posture, enhance mobility, and optimize overall movement.
Each ELDOA posture is carefully selected and individualized to address your body's specific needs. Whether you're experiencing back, neck, or joint discomfort, recovering from an injury, or simply looking to move more freely, ELDOA® can be a powerful addition to your movement program.
More than just stretching, ELDOA® encourages your body to move with greater efficiency and awareness. Many clients notice improvements not only in how they feel, but also in how they stand, walk, and perform everyday activities.
Experience how creating space in your body can help you move with greater comfort, confidence, and ease.
MELT Method®
The MELT Method® is a gentle self-care technique designed to reduce chronic pain, improve mobility, and slow the negative effects of aging by supporting the health of your connective tissue and nervous system.
Using specialized techniques with a soft body roller and small therapy balls, MELT helps rehydrate connective tissue, rebalance the nervous system, restore space to compressed joints, and improve overall movement efficiency. The result is a body that feels more comfortable, balanced, and resilient.
Whether you're looking to reduce everyday aches and pains, recover more effectively from exercise, or simply move and feel better, MELT offers simple techniques you can continue at home to support your long-term health and well-being.
Experience how just a few minutes of MELT can help your body feel more relaxed, balanced, and free to move with ease.
Franklin Method®
The Franklin Method® is a highly effective, evidence-based approach to movement education that combines Dynamic Neuro-Cognitive Imagery™, anatomical embodiment, and practical movement experiences to improve the way your body moves and functions.
At the forefront of practical neuroplasticity, the Franklin Method® teaches you how to use your brain to improve your body's function. Rather than simply teaching exercises, it helps you develop a deeper understanding of your anatomy and how your body is designed to move. As your understanding grows, movement becomes more efficient, coordinated, and effortless.
