Sandra’s Story

“I would say to someone considering Ross Pilates…Do it! Do it! Do it!”

I had sprained my back, and I was very concerned that the pain would become chronic and I would not be able to perform activities of daily living.  Things like walking or standing at the counter preparing food. I thought of what it would mean to lose the ability to do all of those things we take for granted.  In addition to the back sprain, I had pain from spinal stenosis in both my neck and back as well as a disc issue.  My goal was to get out of pain and to be able to move normally again.

My chiropractor recommended that I call Ross Pilates and Conditioning to help with my back.

Initially, I thought that I wouldn’t have the strength to be able to do the exercises or the stamina to get through a session.  I’ve since learned that Pilates can be tailored to your current abilities.  I have since achieved so much more than I ever thought possible!

The proper instruction on how to move properly and deal with the injured area has allowed for a remarkable recovery. There is very little evidence there was ever a sprain in my back and Pilates has helped with the disc bulge I had as well.  I always feel better after having a session. Walking is now easier.  I really notice how strong my legs are.  I’m so pleased with my ability to move well.

The best thing about Pilates at the studio is the level of competency of the instructors. They know my abilities much more than I do.  Everyone is so friendly and it’s such a relaxed atmosphere.

I would say to someone considering it….Do it. Do it. Do it!  At least give it a try.  I’m sure you’ll find it very beneficial. Pilates is a life enhancer!
